Global Learning

At St. Andrew’s CE Primary School, we are fully committed to ensuring all of our children are active global citizens. Working alongside our Christian Values and as a Rights Respecting school, the rights applicable to ALL children as set out in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child underpin all aspects of life in school. Global themes are embedded into our curriculum and ‘courageous advocacy’ is encouraged through our participation in Christian Aid Global Neighbours, our support of Fairtrade and campaigns such as ‘Send my Friend to School’. Our links with schools in The Gambia and South Africa as part of the ‘Connecting Classrooms’ scheme are as important as our local community links. Through all of these, we aim to ensure an ethos of action-taking, encouraging children to challenge injustice and become agents of change in a rapidly changing world.
