Year 5 put on a spectacular production this term! Their performance of ‘Star Warts’ was truly out of this world. The children learnt their lines perfectly and performed with confidence. Their songs were equally as amazing! We are so proud of them.
Year 5 also had a great day at Chiltern Open Air Museum, stepping back in time! They had fun playing with traditional Victorian toys, discovering how children entertained themselves in the past. They also got hands-on by making handmade bricks using locally sourced clay, just like Victorian workers would have done. They also learned the art of rag rug making, using old cloth to create beautiful, sustainable crafts. It was a fantastic day of learning and discovery.
The children have also enjoyed planning and conducting their own experiments in Science this term. Hypotheses have ranged from: "sour sweets make you run faster" to "the higher the volume of water, the better the rainbow created."
Finally, bridge building in DT allowed the children to show off their engineering capabilities! Inspired by the work of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the children researched, planned, created and evaluated their own bridges.
